Here at Learn Your Flow we have been exploring the topic of meditation. We have covered the basics of when and where to practice as well as how to set up a 30-day challenge. Even with these hints and tips, you may be finding it difficult to find inspiration for your meditations. As meditation is becoming increasingly popular and there are many different resources that can help you with a daily practice such as apps, books, videos, and podcasts. However, because there is so much material out there it is hard to know where to start and which resources are best. In order to help with this, Learn Your Flow underwent a challenge of our own by trying out 21 different meditation YouTube channels for 5 days each to determine which channels were our favourite. As a result, we have put together a list of 10 of our favourite channels to help you with your meditation journey.
Great meditation – Great Meditation is an excellent channel for a quick 5, 10, or 20 minute guided meditation. The meditations can start with a brief introduction and then takes you through your topic of choice. It has a wide range of topics, relaxing voices and beautiful artwork. So you will be able to find something just right for you.
Goodful meditation – Goodful meditation is a great channel if you are just starting out a new meditation practice. It has many different topics which include different emotions, the basics of mediation and some meditations for sleep. The channel has a combination of male and female voices, so there is something for everyone.
Calm – Calm is an interesting channel as it follows on from the Calm app. There are many different meditations with different themes. The background noise tends to be sounds of nature which makes this channel calm and relaxing.
Headspace – Headspace is a well-known app that also has their own YouTube channel. Its focus is to teach people how to practice mindfulness in order to reduce stress, anxiety, depression and to help people relax. Mindfulness is a technique where you focus on one thing such as the breath to help you be in the present moment whilst observing your thoughts as they arise. The channel has a combination of guided meditations, breathing techniques and sleep casts.
The Mindful Movement – The Mindful Movement is a channel designed to help you be more mindful throughout your day and encourages self-healing. Their videos have a variety of topics and vary in length. They also include mindful movement videos that cover some elements of yoga and pilates.
Jason Stepheson – Jason Stepheson’s channels is a creative set of guided meditations. If you are looking for something longer then a short, sharp, burst of calm then this channel is for you. This channel includes many different topics and takes you on some exiting journeys that can help you fall asleep.
Relax for a while – Relax for a while is another channel that is designed to help you fall asleep. They have used techniques such as hypnotherapy in order to encourage a state of calm. This channel has many different topics and is topped off with a nice relaxing voice.
Healing vibrations – Healing Vibrations is a little different from our other channels. Rather than being a set of guided meditations Healing Vibrations includes crystal bowl sound baths. It covers different themes such as the chakras. So, if you are looking for some relaxing sounds that help bring a sense of calm either to play in the background or as a focus for your mediations then this channel is for you.
Yoga with Adrian – Yoga with Adrian is another channel that is slightly different from the rest. If you are finding sitting or lying down listening to a guided meditation is not working for you then you can change it up by creating some movement in your practice with yoga. This channel offers a range of different yoga flows and covers the basics so you can practice with no prior knowledge.
Actualize.org – If you have a curious mind and love learning then Actialize.org is the right channel for you. There are many different talks on different topics relating to meditation and there is also access to their website giving you even more information.
