Here at Learn Your Flow we have been exploring various life coaching topics and techniques to help support you in achieving what you truly desire. This month we will be utilising all that you have learnt from this series and previous posts in order to get creative and create visions boards.
What is a visions board?
A Visions boards is an exciting way to visualise and manifest your dreams, goals and aspirations. It is a board that is covered in images and captions that represent what it is that you want to manifest. When creating this board there is no one size fits all. You could use a pin board, posit notes, magazine snippets, photos, drawings and so much more.
The key to a good visions board is to keep it general rather than using specific details. You want to focus on not just what these goals look like but also how they feel once you have achieved them.
The way that visions boards work is by helping you to tune into the frequency of what you truly desire and how it feels to make your vision your reality. By creating your board, you are not just tuning into the frequency, but you are also improving your mental state so that you are more prepared to receive positive outcomes.
What you need to create a visions board
Here is a list of items that you need to create the board:
- The Background – This can be anything from paper, card, pin board, white board, computer or any other item that you can add things to.
- Content – This can be printed images that represent your goals, magazine cut outs, words, post it notes, or photographs.
- Practical items – scissors, glue, or pins and magnets (depending on your background)
Not sure where to start?
If you are unsure or do not know what you desire, here is a quick recap on how to work this out.
Step 1. Finding what it means to be you – Living authentically is the first step to understanding what you want to bring forward in your life. Living authentically means that you live true to your values, personality and spirit. By identifying who you truly are or who you want to be can help give you some structure when creating your goals.
Step 2. Complete your wheel – A life coaching wheel can help you to prioritize the areas of your life that may not be in line with your values, personality, or spirit. So by identifying both the different areas, and the weak points you wish to work on you are then able to move onto the next step.
Step 3. Setting your goals – This can be done by using the Smart Goals framework to help you create both measurable and achievable goals that cover the areas of your life you wish to improve.
Step 4. Change your mindset – You are more likely to achieve your goals if you have a positive mindset. Having a positive mind set is important when manifesting. This is an idea that derives from the law of attraction which is a concept used to help with manifestation.
So where does the visions board fit in?
Once have a clear picture of what your goals are this is the time when you can get creative. When you have completed your visions board it is important that you place it somewhere where you can see it. This will help you to stay focused, keep what you are working towards at the forefront of your mind whilst improving your mindset so that it remains positive.
Now that you have all you need to create a visions board it is time to hand over to you. If you find that you need a recap of some of our previous topics such as manifestation, the wheel of life, or goal setting then you can head back over to some of our previous blog posts as a quick refresher.
